How It Works

A controlled path from identification to contact.

MEC is being designed to support a simple sequence: identify the participant, verify the requester, provide only the appropriate emergency-contact information, initiate contact, and document what happened.

01

Member Enrollment

A participant creates a profile, designates emergency contacts, and sets permissions for emergency access.

02

MEC Identifier

The participant receives a unique MEC identifier that can be associated with approved physical or digital credentials such as QR or NFC-enabled formats.

03

Requester Verification

An authorized organization or user initiates the request and is authenticated according to the role and use case.

04

Controlled Access

MEC is designed to expose only the minimum information appropriate to that requester and situation.

05

Contact Initiation

The workflow supports initiation of emergency-contact notification and, where configured, escalation to alternate contacts.

06

Audit & Review

Access and notification activity can be logged to support accountability, operational review, and pilot measurement.

What MEC is not intended to do

Not a diagnostic tool

MEC is not intended to diagnose conditions or make clinical decisions.

Not a replacement EHR

MEC is not intended to replace Epic or other institutional systems of record.

Not unrestricted access

The platform is being designed around authenticated, role-sensitive access rather than public lookup.
