Critical contact information may exist, but during an emergency the person who needs it may not know where to find it, whether it is current, or whether they are authorized to access it.
MEC is being developed as a permissioned workflow layer connecting identity, requester verification, emergency-contact access, notification, escalation, and accountability.
The goal is not to replace the systems institutions already use. The goal is to determine whether a focused, portable emergency-contact workflow can help in the moments when conventional information is not immediately available.
